The covid pandemic, like any other sector, hit the handloom weavers in the worst way possible. The raw materials started to accumulate, jobs lost and the orders for production declined almost to zero. The case of KHAAZ, a notable handloom brand based in Calicut too, was no different. They contacted Xpresso Global to plan an event, digitally, to revive not only their brand but the entire handloom sector, in general.

There were a total of three problems put forth from KHAAZ to solve. How to revive the handloom sector, what are the challenges this sector is facing and let the public know what is the effort being happening behind each handloom garment. To respond to all these three questions, Xpresso Global did a thorough research and ground work. Then, we decided to convene a digital event launching a short nonfiction film visualising the answers to all the three questions mentioned earlier. The digital launch was scheduled to be on National Handloom Day, 7th August 2021, on official social media handles of more than 100 celebrities and influencers.

Our Result

The brand now enjoys a distinguished stature among the barbeque restaurants in Malabar and is gradually stepping up to become a global brand.
